n10.as Celebrates Ten Years of Radio with Community Funding Drive
n10.as Tenth-Anniversary Funding Drive
To know and love independent radio is to know and love n10.as. With no shareholders, no algorithms, and no paywalls, the volunteer-run station has spent the past decade as an undercurrent of Montreal’s creative scene — sharing sounds of every texture, hosting compelling discussions, and serving as champions for the community.
But as any creative will tell you, the purity of one’s craft cannot run on good vibes alone. To begin their next chapter—and share the sounds and voices of Montreal for years to come—n10.as has launched its ten-year anniversary funding drive, running until March 31.
The station has identified three core priorities for the funds raised during the drive:
Digital infrastructure: web hosting, streaming servers, and storage that keep dozens of shows accessible online
Studio upgrades: improvements to the station’s space at 7119 St-Hubert
Operational essentials: the less glamorous but all-too-necessary costs of nonprofit accounting and legal support
And, while the fundraising goal is set at $10,000, the good folks at n10.as aren’t afraid to dream big. The station has identified plans for additional funds received, including new studio equipment, expanded archiving platforms, and more off-air programming — all ways of widening the station’s reach and welcoming even more community members into its orbit.
The ask is simple: head to n10.as/donate and contribute whatever you can. Even $5 makes a meaningful difference for the future of the station – and for Montreal’s creative community at large. If you choose to donate more than $25, you’ll qualify for all kinds of donation incentives, from an n10.as sticker pack to an exclusive 10th anniversary compilation cassette!
Here at Also Cool Mag, we’re proud to have been part of the n10.as family for six years. Whether it’s a groovy themed mix or a brand-new episode of the Also Cool Sounds Like podcast, our monthly radio show has always been something the whole team looks forward to. As another volunteer-run creative hub in Montreal—with four editorial team members and three podcast hosts/producers—we’ve been grateful to grow alongside the station, and we know firsthand the grit, care, and imagination it takes to run a project simply for the love of it. Supporting n10.as means investing in a shared future: for the station, for this publication, and for everyone who believes in the power of the wadio.
