Partage Sucré: The Montreal Pastry Service Giving Back to Local Initiatives
Who isn’t craving baked goods this time of year? It’s cold, it’s icy, and it’s the perfect time to cozy up at home with a box of homemade baked goods that help local organizations and individuals.
Enter Partage Sucré: the weekly volunteer-run baked goods service that donates their profits to a local organization or individual in need each week. As soon as we heard about their initiative, we reached out to learn more about what they’re doing (and ordered a box for ourselves, of course).
According the the Partage Sucré team, “The idea for Partage Sucré came from wanting to contribute more to my community. I found that this year, with the presence of the pandemic, it felt hard to physically participate in the causes that I feel are important to be a part of and to show up for.
Partage Sucré combines my personal love of food & food creation with the initiative to raise funds for local individuals & organizations in need. To me, the idea of community is about contributing, collaborating and sharing with the people around me. Our hope is that through this project Partage Sucré can become a small but mighty part of our community in Montreal! ”
Partage Sucré will be offering a weekly assortment of pastries and sweets in the form of a pastry box for $20-$24 depending on the week. The project is a collaboration between Julieta (@_homeloaf_ & @il_tuo_fagiolino), Naika (@ndg_nbd), & Celeste (@hoardlove). They are are a non-profit/volunteer effort, with all funds after material costs donated to a local organization or individual.
You may be thinking ok, sounds great, but how do I order?! Partage Sucré will release each week’s menu on Wednesday. Orders will be taken through the week via their DMs ending on Saturday. Pick-ups for boxes are on the following Tuesday at Cafe Iso on Duluth in the Plateau.
This week’s menu: Pasteis de Nata (Portuguese custard tart):
- Thumbprint cookies two ways: hazelnut and almond
- Hojicha Kouign Amann ( Hojicha is a roasted green tea)
Next week the proceeds will go to Meals for Milton Park.
